We constantly enhance our know-how by research co-operations with different universities and institutes. The practical oriented implementation of research results enable new ways for our customers and us. Numerous accepted publications demonstrate our innovative strenght.
In the field of developing humanoid robots we can already draw on several years of experience - our first robot H10 is equipped with a TFT display in the head, which makes it possible to easily display a wide variety of characters. The animatronics of his arms and hands are robust, which makes him suitable for hard everyday use. Thus, he has already been able to make successful appearances at trade fairs, evening events and even in doner kebab stalls.
Our latest development in humanoid robotics is SAM - a humanoid robot with a total of 43 degrees of freedom. Unlike the H10, it has a >real< face with fast FireWire cameras from Point Grey Research in both fully mobile eyes. The control is also effected via two serial interfaces, whereby the transmission speed could be increased substantially compared to H10. Internally, the robot and its drives are operated by a specially developed controller system - the iModules.
The development is carried out in close cooperation with the Applied Computer Science Group of the Technical Faculty of Bielefeld. This AG will initially port your attention-getting software to the platform. A simulation environment with 3D graphics output developed by us makes it possible to test a wide variety of software modules before they are used on the hardware.
